TUBERS: You are purchasing one dahlia tuber or small clump of dahlia tubers grown exclusively on our farm. We start many of our varieties from cutting and for some varieties, tuber are small the first year. This in no way changes what the tuber produces, however, in these cases, you may receive a small clump of tubers. Little tubers produce the same plants as large tubers. As long as the tuber has an eye, a neck and a body, the magic will happen.
CUTTINGS: You are purchasing a single rooted cutting of a specific varietal. When shipped to you, you will receive specific planting instructions. All cuttings are shipped ready to plant into your garden after a few days of acclimating the cutting to your weather/temperature.
We guarantee the dahlia tuber to be have at least one eye/sprout, and be firm and healthy when it arrives to you. As there are too many factors at play, we do not guarantee tubers past the first 48 hours of receipt. See "Claims" below if there is a problem with your shipment.
Rooted Cuttings: All cuttings are grown and rooted on our farm. You will received a properly packed, rooted live plant, ready for transplanting into your garden/fields. All rooted cuttings must be opened immediately upon receipt. They will die if left in the package for longer than the necessary time to ship it to you. See "Claims" below if there is a problem with your shipment.
Claims/Viruses: To the best of our knowledge, we ship healthy tubers and cuttings. Our fields have no visible signs of disease, and although we test our stock for virus using Agdia testing, no test, nor the presence of a negative test is 100%. For that reason, once you receive your plant material, you must notify us in writing, via email, with photographs of your issue/claim within 24 hours for rooted cuttings and within 48 hours for tubers.
Substitutions: We will never substitute anything on your order without your permission. If we are unable to fill your order with the variety you ordered, we will notify you, offer another option for purchase or promptly refund your money.
PLEASE NOTE: These are live plants. With that, if after your order is placed we have any concerns about filling your order, we will notify you and promptly issue you a full refund.
Our farm is inspected by the Delaware Department of Agriculture and an inspection certificate is available upon request. Our shipping packages are required, and will list our license number on the box.
Once your order has been placed, we are unable to change or cancel the order. If you would like to add additional tubers, please place another order. Because of the large volume of orders we receive during a sale, we cannot combine orders or refund shipping.

TUBERS: If you are not ready to plant your tubers, store them in a frost/freeze proof location with the bag open so they can breathe. Please do not store your tubers in the fridge (too risky) or in a hot/humid location.
If you believe there is an issue with your tubers, please email us (with photographs) within 48 days of receipt of your package at luckypennyflowerfarm@gmail.com.
Tuber shape and size varies greatly based on the variety of the dahlias. A tuber the size of a AA battery will grow just as well as a tuber the size of a giant Idaho potato.
Overwatering when the tuber has not yet sent up a sprout above ground can cause it to rot. Please do NOT be tempted to overwater in the early growth period. If you are experiencing drought conditions, make sure to keep the soil slightly moist.
Dahlia tubers do not like to be hot, dry nor very cold and wet at the start of their growing season. They do need moisture…just not too much as they begin growing.
ROOTED CUTTINGS: These are shipped as live, rooted plants. They must be removed from the shipping box immediately. Any claims must be made within 24 hours of receipt of your package, per tracking information. Since they are shipping in the dark, please water them, if necessary, and place them in diffused light. Cuttings will need to be hardened off and slowly acclimated to your temperature before planting in the ground over a few days. Additional information on care will be included with your shipment.
